Ingredients
3 sticks of butter or margarine, room temperature
1 (1 lb) box confectioners’ sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 eggs, room temperature
3 cups flour, sifted
1⁄4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp almond extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 325° F (160° C).
Cream together butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift together flour and baking powder, and add to butter and sugar mixture a little at a time.
Bake in a greased and floured angel food cake pan (tube pan) for 1 hour, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool in pan for 30 minutes before serving.
