Every fall, I must make at least 5 batches of apple chips, they’re a fun way to eat apples when you inevitably have too many.
Ingredients
Apples
Brown sugar (optional)
Water (optional)
Directions
Wash and slice apples into thin slices with a knife or a mandoline.
Optional: In a large tupperware, mix two spoonfuls of brown sugar and cold water until about half full. Place apple slices into the tupperware with sugar water until full. Let sit in the refrigerator overnight for maximum flavor.
Preheat the oven to the lowest temperature and line a baking sheet with parchment paper (about 1.5 apples will fit on each sheet).
Lay the apple slices on the parchment until full.
Bake at the lowest oven temperature for 2 hours.
To test an apple chip, take one off the tray and let it cool for a minute, if it isn’t crisp, they need a little longer.
Turn off the oven and let the chips cool in the oven.
Store in an airtight container.
