Ingredients

  • 4 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped

  • 3⁄4 cup water

  • 1 tbsp white sugar

  • 1⁄2 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, combine apples, water, sugar and cinnamon. Cover, and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are soft (if you prefer thicker applesauce, allow to simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes). Allow to cool, then mash with a fork or potato masher.

Note: If you add a little more water and start stirring the apples for another 15 minutes, the apples will puree themselves as they continue to cook.
