Chocolate Rum Buttercream


Ingredients

  • 1⁄2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 2 tbsp dark rum

  • 1⁄4 cup plus 2 tbsp of butter, softened


Directions

  1. Combine chocolate chips and rum in double boiler, bring water underneath to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and cook, stirring occasionally until chocolate melts. Remove from hot water.

  2. Using a beater, add butter, 1 tbsp at a time, beating on high after each addition. Place mixture over cold water, and beat until cool and thick enough to spread (frosting will lighten in color).
